Halloween

I loved Halloween, I mean who doesn't like running with your friends and collecting all kinds of chocolate. But gosh kids today, no wonder they don't give a whoot about Halloween. The city dictates when, where and what time they can go now. Plus gosh, we had such a big family's when I grew up, we brothers, sisters, and neighbors all stuck together. Now however... An older brother take his little one, no way someone might see them together.

Well being the good mom I am, I encouraged my kids to trick ot treat. I think its fun, as well. I think my oldest boy went till about 7th grade after that, the school has dances for them. :) and gosh the high school key club also decorates the school for them and has hunted hallways, where they pass out safe candy. That comes in handy when it rains. I always remind my kids to say thank you and be nice.

This year was no exception. My youngest is 11, and Halloween was dictated to be Thursday night 5:30 - 7 pm. Geesh it was hardly dark when it ended even. I really don't get it, I mean it's not like we live in the city. We don't have that much mischief, no fires in the dumpsters, no guns out on the street taking candy from kids, no needles in chocolate... All those things did happen in Columbus, though. All in all, it was a nice night, I met some parents from down the street I never saw before, saw some parents from the country that came in to trick or treet, and I got to see some of the cutest kids with smiles and laughing. Heck, I even got a real hug, from an admirer of my headless bride days. People around here, sit outside and party practically while the kids come get the candy. No need to ring a door bell in our town, they are great. Loads of chocolate, lollypops, bubble gum, and even the occastional pencil.

What I didn't like was trying to explaining to my boy, when someone sat on the driveway and handed them a flyer instead of candy. A flyer for a church, LOL my son was down right rude, and that wasn't right, but really, couldn't they just stay inside?? geesh sorry !!

I always think we Catholics have the strangest traditions but I forget about some these non-organized, over zealous Baptist or rather non-dominations Christian religions, where any Tom, Dick or Harry can be a preacher and open a church. Welcome to the church of Rev Jim LOL @ Taxi remember that ...

In our church, we learned our catholic holidays like All- halllow's Eve (where Halloween comes from) were picked specically to be near or on the days of pagan celebrations, for many reasons. One was to hide the fact they were Christians, so they wouldn't be killed for it, another to help ease the transion to get more people to believe in the one true god and not many gods like they used to believe. It's hard to remember that the catholic church was the first true religion and followers of Jesus Christ, and that all others were formed when they disagreed with the laws of the church and the pope. At least when you think of the Christians out there that are more strict then we are. LOL it really does make me laugh.

Thank goodness my relatives did come to this land to have religious freedom. My moms family to start one of the Presbyterian church's and my dads to be catholic. hehe Yup, I'm such a mutt.

water

i went to walmart today to buy a sieth, for my son for his costume.. and what do i see as i enter? a long table and the health experts from the local hospital giving fat analysis. LOL needless say after gaining 20 or so pounds during the summer putting me way past overweight, i figured what the heck, how much worse could it be. last time i let her do that to me at the health fair, she asked if i had been on bed rest or had some operation i was recuring from, i was so bad lol

well the results were pretty the same as last time, in fact a couple %s less. :O but what surprised me most was her insistance that i was dehydrated. i guess that would explain my headaches somewhat. but i truely hate water.

i started think they were there to drive the water market up for walmart. right away they were suggesting i buy the walmart flavored water to drink. everyone can drink that it seems. i have to admit i have too. back when i was in ww. it was one of the things they suggested too. ahh well i bought some water, but i got my popcorn too. ;)

Weekend

Well weekends over, and somehow I had a great visit with my dad, ccr did NOT fall apart, neither did my children and www event went off with a bang without me. Seriously though, I often wondered how it was going to work. Me promising to do something big for www, and the night before it starts, they moved the location of the town. LOL so we had something fun, following the ccr tradition, that it seems hardly anyone remembered. And decided there was no way we could make a race that night. I had my m&m race map of caldera desert, but wouldn't cha know it, I deleted those checkpoints a couple of days before this. The www event co-ordinators told me not to worry, so I stopped worrying. mystiegirl did finally pull through, not that I doubted her, I just can't take all the last minute stuff she does. LOL I was really nervous.

Real life, I did have a nice weekend in spite of being sick still, I caught tommy's cold now.. so more reason to have a headache and along with that I have lyrangitist.(sp?) Ah well. We had a great time at pumpkin show. We did watch the parade. Tommy rode until time was up. 8 rides of the star later, he was just starting to get sick, so we went and got his goldfish. I got my waffles. Steven was the only one that lost out. He brought his buddy john with him, to ride the rides. John was sick again right away, this time on the Viking ship. LOL Steven really needs a friend with a stronger stomach.

I hope my dad had a pleasant weekend , I sure did..

sorry about giving you a cold though, dad .

Some Music Favorites

i do believe i have an odd taste in music... espcially for a 46 year old. lol
anyways i have to say there's again a rash of wonderous songs out there.
here is some pieces of lyrics.

going threw a breakup?
listen to: JoJo, Leave
its a great girl power song.

[Verse 3]
I wanted you right here with me, but I have no choice you've got to leave,
Because my heart breaking, with every word i'm saying,
I gave up everything I had on something that wouldn't last,
But I refuse to cry, oh please don't follow me, . . . . Get out!

[Chorus 2x]
Get out (leave) right now, this is the end of you and me (you and me)
It's too late (now) and i can't wait for you to be gone (you to be gone

in love, try
Usher and Alicia Keys My Boo
What a way to start !!

Usher intro:]

There's always that one person
That will always have your heart
You'll never see it coming
Cause you're blinded from the start
Know that you're that one for me
It's clear for everyone to see
Ooh baby ooh you'll always be my boo

don't you agree??

and lastly i just heard this..
Nelly & Tim McGraw Over and Over

i can't find lyrics for it, but boy it was a very interesting pairing of talent. and the song was great.

you can find the first two on Yahoo's launch.
Happy listening

Life

well real life is catching up on me, after a zillion headaches.. still going i might add, i had both my kids take turns at being sick. one also with migraines, the other ?? who knows! rofl Doctors you gotta love em. she said well its either a virus or allergies. 'doh i knew that. but with the other stuff he's taking i really do want to know what i should give him. so today my lifes a roller coaster.

lets see, i found this site, IGE where i could sell or trade my simoleans. yeah, i said sell, no more guilt about leaving those millions. at least i got something for it. $57 for 2.5 million simoleans. it doesn't seem like its nearly enough, after all my sweat. lol but now i have money i think, in paypal. i guess, that i can spend on There or swg or second life.

so, in between driving to school to pick up one sick child and now, was doctors appointments, chicken soup, selling stuff in fancey fields, reading blogs trying to find the offical sl forums, signing up for my membership in sl and buying some furniture for sl, meeting in tso to pick up money, and reading everything again, now where does the $money actually go? run to the pharmacy, and now it's time to pick up my oldest. finially everything done and i can breathe. i'm exhausted, i think i 'll go join my youngest in a nap. see ya laters

Picture of the week?

Hidden in the mist of Ootay are some wondrous things.. Like this, some call it the element rock, some the astrologer wheel. What ever you want to name it, it is definitely a thing to pay homage to. See it even has an eternal fire keeping the evils away and beckoning us to hear its call.

artist and/or photographer

my favorite painting or photos, actual or style? well i 'm probably going to date myself, seeing as i studied art history way back in the 70s and photos well i like taking them.. i never really thought about a photographer before...

my favorite artist would of course be my mom.. for a person growing up with nothing, in a abusive house, i seen the pictures (photos, sketchs and paintings) she created, even at the very young age of 13. she always had an eye for color and textures. i'm sure thats where i get it from. of course her grandfather was a cabinet maker.. and her uncles were draftsmen and engineers of sorts.

as far as famous painter, sulptures and or styles.. i really love a few.

i like impressionist probably the best. imagine the artist thinking, i want a lake in this spot, and just putting a bunch of small strokes in a lot of differant colors.. somehow when you look farther away it looks like a lake. i've never understood how that worked, but it does. looking close up, sometimes its hard to imagine what ever it might be. but from far away it gives such a dreamy romantic view on life.. don't cha think?

i also love the rensesance era of artist. the weighty, round, beautiful women of micheangelo and raphel. now there was age where the men enjoyed real women. people enjoyed such a hedenistic life, finding pleasure in all aspects of life, food drink and sex. there are many nudes and all full figured women and well endowed men. yes, people were not afraid to be themselves in those times. no 100 pounds models put on pedistals, in fact a women would have been considered sickly at that weight. i must admit, this time i love the realism of it.

thirdly, i always loved the paintings of georgia o'keefe. i love the way she showed such detail in a simple thing of nature. i always loved flowers, and she did them so well. the fact that people say they look like parts of a womens body?? well, i have to agree, but that's not why i like them. i simply enjoy flowers.

In photography, i think i love the more realist shot. you know, the old woman on the rocker, relaxing in the sun, going unnoticed but taking in everything around her. simple is best. the more unobtrusic the photo, the better. a rather artistic view there too. but that what i like . the photos of a simple life, taking without their knowing it, by someone wanting us to know the ppl without intruding on them.

Sex

'umm sorry, i guess you can tell where my mind is....

seriously though, sex was the absolute best gift God ever gave us. it doesn't matter, lights on, light off, sexy clothes or naked, candles? food? what you look like or how many pounds you are. Sex is the one true expression of Love. the power you have to bring someone else to a place we dream of.. where your brain stops thinking and you can only hear your breath quickening. where you can only feel the firm touch on your ass and lips on your skin. going to place you can hardly imagine, even though you've been there before...

what better gift to share with someone you love and promiced to love till you day you die....

A New Day

I saw the most incredible thing this morning... Very simple really.

Yesterday, was a probably the worst day we had as a family. It's hard on all of us when my youngest, gets moody and goes off. Yesterday was probably the worst ever. At the end of the night, when he's tucked quietly in bed, he's just the sweetest thing ever though.

This morning, I was driving back home after dropping the boys off at school, and I just noticed the most incredible view. Like most of central Ohio, on the corner near our home is a corn field. This morning, it was still dark, foggy, and kind of chilly, a typical fall morning. The city was starting to wake up, the birds were quieting, lots of people driving to school or work, and kids walking around yelling and having fun.

As I got closer to home, I noticed the sun was starting to peak over the field. A beautiful red sun, making the sky all purpley blue, and the fog still laying low, lightly over the field. It was just incredible, nature had a powerful statement today, and it was beautiful.

Yes, it is a new day!
